BSNL Launches Unlimited Local and STD Call Plans For Landline Customers


India’s National Telecom Backbone and largest land-line service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), today announced the launch of new tariff plans for its landline customers offering Free Unlimited Own Net local and STD calling facility.
BSNL Introduces Unlimited Local Calling Plan UL-Rs.350 and UL-Rs.500 for Urban area SSAs having L/L equipped capacity less than 100000 and All rural areas irrespective of capacity. While for Urban area/Cities SSAs having L/L equipped capacity more than 100000, similar plan will be available for Rs. 450 and Rs. 600.
With UL Plan-350 and UL-450 customers can make unlimited fee calls From BSNL Fixed Line to BSNL Fixed Line anywhere in India. While Landline to BSNL Mobile call charges will be 60p/min and BSNL to any other network Rs.1/min.
Unlimited Plans- Rs. 500/Rs.600 offers Unlimited Local and STD calls From BSNL LandLine to BSNL Landline and Mobile. BSNL to any other network call charges will be Rs.1/min.
BSNL also introduces One Limited Plan for Rs. 200/Rs.250 offers 200 Free Calls and there after call charges will be Rs.1/min.
Apart form the above Plans BSNL launches similar packages as Add-On Plan for Only Broadband/Combo Plan users for Rs. 225, Rs. 375, Rs. 325 and Rs. 475 offering BSNL to BSNL free callings.

Note : The New plans will be available to all BSNL fixed line customers in SSAs having CDR based billing system only.

Tata DOCOMO Launches Unique Location-Based Service ‘Offers Near Me’


Tata DOCOMO today launched ‘Offers Near Me’, a unique Location-Based Advertising Service for its GSM customers in Andhra Pradesh circle.
Offers Near Me’ is early first location-based opt-in program that allows Tata DOCOMO GSM customers to receive exciting deals, offers and discount coupons from their favorite retailers — FMCG brands, apparel companies, malls, restaurants, cinemas, coffee shops, auto dealers, and many more. Value deals and discounts offered depend on the location the customer is travelling in and individual retailer offers.
This service is free and Tata DOCOMO GSM customers will not be charged, but to subscribe this service customers will have to dial the interactive portal at *533*9#. Upon subscription, customers will be provided with an enhanced shopping experience, receiving timely location-specific deals in the exact location they are in. These deals will be unique and better than any market offering, providing greater value to Tata DOCOMO users.
Tata DOCOMO has partnered with Stay In Touch Mobile for this VAS offering and has successfully piloted this project in Andhra Pradesh. The exciting new service will be rolled out nationally in a phased manner.

ndia Adds 8.44 Million GSM Subscribers in January 2012– Uninor Leads


Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) today released India’s ‘GSM Subscriber Figures for January 2012.
Uninor tops in the new subscriber additions, added a total of 2.49 million new GSM subscribers followed byIDEA Cellular which has added 1.75 million new subscribers in  Jan’ 2012.
According to the data released by COAI total 8.44 million new GSM subscribers added with 1.32% increase from previous month taking the all-India GSM cellular subscriber base to 648.08 million at the end of January 2012. Cheers Mobile / Etisalat DB looses 1,19,093 customers during January 2012.
Among the leading GSM Mobile Service Operators, Vodafone Essar added 0.86 million new customers, boosting its subscriber base 148.60 million. Bharti Airtel notched up 1.30 million new subscribers during the month, taking its total base to 176.95 million.
State run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) manged 860846 new subscribers boosting its subscriber base 93.46 million while AIRCEL increased its base by over 0.82 million customers to take its subscriber base to 62.46 million. Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) added 50,180 new users during the month, boosting its total base to 5.49 million at the end of Jan ’2011.
Please note : COAI GSM Subscriber base does not include the Reliance Communications (Rcom) and Tata Docomo’s GSM subscriber Base (same not submitted to COAI). While Pure CDMA operator MTS India said that it has added 1,43,434 customers in the month of January 2012, taking its total customer base to 15,197,661.

Pan India 3G mobile service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today announced the launch of 3 Android powered Tablets including two 7 inch resistive screen based tabs (WiFi and 3G) and one 8 inch capacitive touchscreen Tablets in association with Pantel Technologies.
All 3 Tabs are made by Noida – India based company Pantel, the tablets will be bundled with special offer with 3 Months of free 2G/GPRS data usage as well as discounted 3G data plans from BSNL. MTNL Crosses 7,00,000 Active 3G Data Subscriber Mark


India’s first 3G mobile service operator and leading GSM Mobile service operator Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) said that its has crossed the landmark of 7,00,000 “active 3G subscribers” in Mumbai and Delhi.
The company is also targeting a four-fold jump in its active 3G users base through full fledged up-gradation of its 3G UMTS/HSDPA (3.6 Mbps) network to HSPA+ to provide more speed and better coverage across all the corner of Mumbai and Delhi circles.
In Mumbai and Delhi MTNL has total 54,90,222 mobile GSM subscribers (as on Jan’2012) and providing 3G services (Voice/Video/Data) to all users by defaults without any extra charges. Out of these subscribers more than 7,00,000 subscribers are “active 3G Data subscribers” who are using or subscribing any of Limited or Unlimited 3G Data Plans starting from Rs. 99 per month.

Tata Docomo Launches Let’s Play on Android Gaming Subscription VAS


Tata DOCOMO today launched “Let’s Play on Android ”- a unique and exciting service for its Android mobile phones users powered by Gametanium application which gives access to some of the best premium games on Android platform.
Gametanium application is available for installation for Tata DOCOMO customers using Android 2.1 or above devices.
To avail this service, Tata DOCOMO customers need to send an SMS to 53333 (toll free). Subsequent to this, customers will receive a link which they will have to follow to download and install the Gametanium application on their Android phone. Post installation, they can open the application and click on subscribe option to subscribe for the service.
Subscription charges of Gametanium application are currently at Rs. 99 per month which is auto renewable. Post the subscription, customers do not need to pay anything extra to download the variety of games as all of it will be available for free. However, data access charges will be applicable for all the subscribers.
